The VITROCELL® Skin module is a unique system for the analysis of volatile compounds and the exposure of tissue to liquids. It has a 6-chamber capacity.
The base module and optional exposure tops are made of high-quality stainless steel. The unique tissue holders have been specifically designed to enable tight and reliable skin fixation. This module is a legitimate and superior alternative to Franz cells.
For automation of the sampling process please refer to the VITROCELL® Skin Autosampler.
The standard volume for the receptor fluid is 2.5 or 5.0 ml. The receptor fluid can be manually or automatically sampled by means of the VITROCELL® Skin Autosampler. The module has a magnetic stirring capability for each individual compartment.
The aerosol exposure top enables either a continuous or time-dependent exposure of the sample to gases, aerosols or complex mixtures.
The skin module is used specifically for samples with smaller surfaces of approx. 1 cm2. Specifically designed holders ensure a tight and reliable fixation of skin samples.
Alternatively, cell culture inserts may be used.
