VITROCELL Cloud Alpha Systems are exceptional tools for identifying potential drug candidates in preclinical studies.
Our Cloud customers carry out realistic investigations of aerosolized medications on lung cells at the air-liquid interface, mimicking the in vivo environment more closely with more complex cellular functionality, including mucociliary barrier formation.
Only a few microliters of the scarce and expensive new compounds are needed to expose the cell systems with minimal losses, due to the direct aerosolization of the test substance onto the cells. Using air-liquid interface cultures for respiratory research provides better applicable dose-response studies by allowing precise control over delivered doses. Microbalance sensors are used to measure deposition in the ng/cm² range.
With the Cloud Alpha Systems, hundreds of samples can be tested in a short time to select the most promising molecules. There is a choice of all common cell culture inserts – whether it’s 6-, 12-, and 24-well single inserts, or for higher throughput 24- or 96-well HTS plates.
